The Dustbowl: A Timeline

From 1931 to 1939, America’s Southern and Midwestern regions were struck with the worst drought in recent history. This only deepened the Depression, and it was a constant struggle for new President Franklin Delano Roosevelt to try and combat mother nature through his New Deal projects. This timeline tells that story.

  1. I love your idea to do a timeline, with added visuals. Very nice! Your information effectively captures all the necessary information in a series of the most important historical events. The man driving the truck in your visual brings up a good point. Could the United States have done anything once farmers had corrupted the land with overarming, or at that point was mother nature simply to strong for us to fight back?
