Blog Post 5: Japanese Internment Poster


This is a caricature of any WWII propaganda poster during the time directly after Pearl Harbor.  The message being conveyed is that the reasons the US provided for the internment of Japanese-Americans were not true, and the real reason was plain prejudice.

  1. I like how you gave the reasons that the government gave, and that they would “cheerfully” lock themselves with other Japanese (and at the same time had a picture of a sign saying that they didn’t want “Japs” back). It’s an accurate depiction of the attitude at the time. Good job!
